Whadda MadLab Electronic Kit - E-Lock

Whadda WSG101 / Velleman MLP101
The E-Lock is an electronic combination lock that is controlled by your mobile phone. The E-Lock picks up, using the onboard microphone, the DTMF tones generated when the keypad of a mobile phone is pressed. When the correct combination of keys has been pressed, the E-Lock's 1 amp integrated relay is activated. The relay can be connected to a solenoid (not supplied), or other device, controlling the lock on a door or enclosure.

Whadda MadLab Electronic Kit - 1-2-3

Whadda WSG102 / Velleman MLP102
1-2-3 is a game of logic that pits you against the machine. The game's "logical thinking" is hardwired wired without using a microcontroller. It's all diodes, transistors and LEDs. Easy to play. Not so easy to win. You play by moving a peg along a path of holes. Players move alternately, and on each turn a player can move the peg 1, 2 or 3 spaces (hence the name). The player who moves the peg to the final hole is the winner.

Whadda Madlab Electronic Kit - Bagpipes

WHadda WSG104 / Velleman MLP104
Bagpipes is an audio oscillator kit similar to the MLP110 MadLab Electronic Kit - Wonky Wire. The Bagpipes kit is, however, capable of producing eight different tones from about 5kHz (5000 cycles per second) down to about 300Hz. To use the Bagpipes, the stylus wire is moved up and down the network of resistors R1 to R8 which make up the keyboard. The voltage at the end of the stylus changes as each keyboard resistor is touched in turn.

Whadda MadLab Electronic Kit - Junior Theremin WSG105

Madlab / Whadda WSG105 / MLP105
The Theremin was the first music synthesizer. The Whadda WSG105 Junior Theremin is our, smaller, version of that classic electronic musical instrument. As you move your hand towards and away from the wire aerial, the Theremin responds by changing the pitch of the note it is playing. It can play individual notes as well as varying the tone of a single note.

Whadda MadLab Electronic Kit - Lie Detector

Whadda WSG106 / Velleman MLP106 Kit
The Lie Detector works by measuring galvanic response. In other words, when a person lies, they tend to sweat. Perspiration has a high sodium content, so sweat is conductive. Dry skin has a resistance of about 1 million ohms, whereas the resistance of moist skin is reduced by a factor of ten or more. A person holding the probe wires will change the voltage at the upper probe wire depending on their skin resistance. The skin resistance is in parallel with R2 and, because it is likely to be similar to or smaller than R2, the voltage at the probe wire will fall as skin resistance falls.

Whadda MadLab Electronic Kit - My Little Alien

Whadda WSG107 / Velleman MLP107
My Little Alien is a spooky free standing robot kit. His eyes are made up of flashing LEDs. Once you build him, melt the supplied polymorph granules in hot water. Take the melted polymorph and form it into whatever ET head shape you desire. Once the polymorph sets over the flashing eyes LEDs it will give your My Little Alien a very "other worldly" light diffusing effect.

Whadda MadLab Electronic Kit - Electric Telegraph

Whadda WSG109
Now you can learn or practice Morse Code with the MLP109. This electronic kit is a modern version of one of the earliest forms of electronic communication, the Electric Telegraph. The original Electric Telegraph utilized the "dot dash" code invented by Samuel Morse. When you become skilled and fast enough, two of the MLP109 Electric Telegraph kits can be wired together and messages can be sent back and forth between two telegraphers.

Whadda MadLab Electronic Kit - Wonky Wire

Whadda WSG110 / Velleman MLP111
The Wonky Wire is used to test the steadiness of your hand. It utilizes a circuit with an oscillator that has a very high oscillation frequency of about 3kHz (3000 cycles per second). As you try to trace the outline of the convoluted wire with the loop, the slightest touch will cause a tone to sound. The variable resistor can be used to change the pitch of the tone.
